Piero Ausilio’s departure from Inter after 28 years at the club dominates Thursday’s Italian sports pages, with dailies running headlines for the unexpected resignation at San Siro.
According to Tuttosport, the split came down to length rather than money: the sporting director wanted a three-year deal, the ownership offered one.
Their splash reads “Inter earthquake – Ausilio leaves”, with Giuseppe Marotta insisting the club will not regret promoting Dario Baccin, who he describes as Ausilio’s own protégé.
Federico Dimarco is quoted on his own contract situation in less reassuring terms, saying nobody has spoken to him about a renewal and that he had hoped it would happen by now.
Corriere dello Sport frame it more starkly still. Their front page, “Ausilio signs off”, reports that the deal on the table ran only to 2027 and that Oaktree told him directly their plans did not include him. He leaves with three Scudetti and six cups to his name after a final meeting on Wednesday morning.

La Gazzetta dello Sport go elsewhere, handing their front page to an exclusive with Rasmus Hojlund under the line “Inter, I challenge you”. The Dane accepts the champions are favourites, saying Napoli will travel to San Siro with the courage to try to win.
Lautaro Martinez appears lower down committing his future once more, with the Argentine saying he chose Nerazzurro over Barcelona and intends to stay until they throw him out.
Juventus provide the rest of the noise. Tuttosport carry an exclusive with Jhon Lucumí headlined “I fight for Spalletti”, the Colombian saying his coach demands perfection and that you go to war properly prepared under him.
He addresses the row with Francisco Conceicao too, confirming he apologised and the pair have cleared the air. Nick Woltemade, meanwhile, tells Corriere dello Sport he always took inspiration from Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
