Reigning Serie A champions Inter will look to continue their perfect start to the 2026-27 season when they visit Cagliari, who also got their league campaign off to a winning start last weekend.
Cristian Chivu’s side set the pace for the rest of the division to match when they trumped newly-promoted Monza 4-1 in San Siro last Saturday, and will be hoping to make it back-to-back victories when they visit the Unipol Domus on Sunday evening. Kick-off is due at 19.45 BST.
Cagliari also picked up three points during the opening weekend of the 2026-27 season thanks to an Alessandro Romano strike in a 1-0 victory away against Parma.
According to pre-match reports from Sky Sport Italia, both sides could stick with unchanged starting line-ups following their winning starts last weekend.
Inter went without any of their new summer signings against Monza last weekend, although England international John Stones did appear from the bench in the second half. For now, though, a back three of Yann Bisseck, Manuel Akanji and Alessandro Bastoni is expected.
Curtis Jones is set to be involved with the squad for the first time following his summer transfer from Liverpool, but like compatriot Stones, he is likely to start on the bench behind Nicolo Barella, Hakan Calhanoglu and Piotr Zielinski.
Lautaro Martinez and Pio Esposito are expected to lead the line on Sunday evening.
Cagliari will stick with last week’s goalscorer Romano in midfield, likely to be joined again by Harry Winks and Jacopo Fazzini. Daniel Maldini, Michel Adopo and Paul Mendy are also in line to start again in attack.
