Inter midfielder Curtis Jones reacts to the Nerazzurri’s 2-1 loss against Real Madrid with an Instagram post: ‘Always together, onto the next.’
Jones started for the first time for Inter on Tuesday and played the full 90 minutes in a 2-1 defeat against Real Madrid at the Estadio Bernabéu.
The former Liverpool player was unintentionally involved in Real Madrid’s opening goal by giving the ball away too easily to Yann Bisseck, who didn’t have time to control it and escape Real Madrid’s pressing. Kylian Mbappé seized the opportunity near the Inter box, and Brahim Diaz supplied the through ball for the Frenchman’s goal.
Jones reacted to Inter’s loss with an Instagram post, sharing the team picture at the Bernabéu and adding a five-word message: “Always together, onto the next,” wrote the Englishman.
Real Madrid’s second goal also came from an Inter mistake. Goalkeeper Josep Martinez failed to dribble past Federico Valverde inside the box, allowing the Uruguayan international to score with ease.
Inter will host Udinese at San Siro in the next Serie A match on Monday and then visit Roma on Saturday, September 19, before the international break.
