Inter seem prepared to go all-in on the signing of Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones, as Wednesday’s reports claim that the Nerazzurri are preparing to submit a formal €30m offer for the Englishman and that there are no alternative options currently being lined up.
Jones is the only midfielder Inter want, €30m bid being prepared
Inter have been courting Jones for several months and had shown an interest in picking up the Liverpool academy graduate during the January transfer window.
Jones is now into the final year of his contract at Liverpool, is not expected to be a key first-team player under Andoni Iraola in 2026-27 and has hardly featured for the Merseysideiders during pre-season.
According to reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport, Jones is keen on the Inter move, has informed Liverpool of his desire to leave and has recently started to follow a number of current Inter players on social media including centre-back Alessandro Bastoni.
As things stand, however, Liverpool have not yet sanctioned the player’s departure.
La Gazzetta dello Sport claims that Inter are currently preparing to submit a €30m offer to sign Jones, who will be free to negotiate with whichever club he chooses in January and could walk away from Anfield on a free transfer next summer.
Wednesday’s report suggests that Inter are prepared to wait until the very end of the summer transfer window to close a deal with Liverpool if required, as happened with Manchester City and Manuel Akanji last summer.
If a deal does not come off before the close of the summer transfer window, Inter are expected to continue negotiating with Jones ahead of the next winter transfer session, when he will be into the final few months of his contract without a renewal.
La Gazzetta dello Sport adds that Inter are not currently lining up any alternative options to Jones in central midfield as he is the specific player that head coach Cristian Chivu wants.
