Multiple sources in Italy claim Inter have reached an agreement with Tottenham Hotspur for Djed Spence, signing the England international for €31.5m plus bonus, with a contract to June 2031.
The initial €30m proposal had been rejected, with claims that Spurs were holding out for €35m plus performance-related bonuses.
However, Fabrizio Romano, Sky Sport Italia, and Sportitalia are all confident the final agreement is €31.5m plus add-ons.
Sport Mediaset have it closer to €30m plus €2m in bonuses, La Gazzetta dello Sport at €31m plus €4m add-ons.
Spence all set for Inter
The Nerazzurri had already agreed personal terms with Spence, who is all set to sign a contract to June 2031.
The two clubs are now working out the final details on the bonuses and how they will be structured before he can fly out for his medical.
He was one of the best performers for England at the 2026 World Cup and shone for his versatility, able to play on the right or left flank.
He’ll reunite at San Siro with fellow England defender John Stones, who joined Inter as a free agent from Manchester City.
Inter see him as the heir to Denzel Dumfries, who completed his transfer to Real Madrid this summer, but also potentially filling in for Federico Dimarco when required too on the left.
This represents a return to Serie A for Spence, who celebrated his 26th birthday at the weekend.
He was also on loan at Genoa from Tottenham for six months in 2024, making 16 appearances for the club.
