Federico Dimarco has more than hinted at his desire to get a new contract in recent remarks, and Inter opened the negotiations through an informal meeting with his agent Arturo Canales before the clash with Real Madrid, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports.
The Nerazzurri have an option to prolong his current deal until 2028. They’ll pick it up if there’s no agreement in place. However, that’s an unlikely scenario, given the strong relationship between the parties.
Inter are readying a long-term contract for Dimarco that would pretty much ensure he’ll stay at the club until the end of his career. As for his wages, he currently makes €4M. The management will propose a higher total figure, but with a lower base salary and more substantial bonuses, as they have done for other veterans.
The fullback missed the recent UEFA Champions League clash due to a slight knee sprain. He could be held out versus Udinese on Monday as well to be 100 percent for the crunch match against Roma. He’s coming off his most productive campaign yet, having totaled 8 goals and 18 assists in 2025/2026, taking home the Serie A MVP award.

This is probably the easiest call among all their pending extensions, as he’s in his prime, extremely attached to the team, and seemingly uninterested in trying an experience at other clubs or countries. His wages aren’t massive at the moment. It shouldn’t be too hard to come to an understanding on a bumped-up deal well before the end of the campaign.
