Multiple outlets are reporting that Inter have reached an agreement to sign central midfielder Curtis Jones on a permanent transfer from Liverpool.
Inter strike Jones agreement with Liverpool
The Liverpool academy graduate, who has spent 16 years on the club’s books, is set to join Inter in a deal worth €35m including bonuses and add-ons according to various sources including the likes of Fabrizio Romano, Matteo Moretto and Gianluca Di Marzio.
Di Marzio reports that the clubs are still in constant contact with Liverpool and that they are expecting to settle the final details of the transfer in the near future.
He has the figures at €32m fixed fee, plus up to €4m in add-ons.
Jones is a player that Inter have been courting for several months and had also been of interest to the Nerazzurri during the winter transfer window.
He is into the final 12 months of his contract at Anfield and could potentially walk away from the club for free next summer if he does not sign a contract extension.
Reports earlier on Wednesday had claimed that the Nerazzurri were willing to offer €30m for Jones, but a deal appears to have been struck for a total package of €35m including all bonuses and add-ons.
He is set to join a midfield department that already contains the likes of Nicolo Barella, Hakan Calhanoglu, Petar Sucic, Piotr Zielinski, Aleksandar Stankovic, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Andy Diouf.
