Napoli say Scott McTominay will return to action after the break following a minor heart procedure, which means the Scotland intenational will miss at least the next four games, including those against Inter and Arsenal.
Napoli star McTominay will be forced to the sidelines for circa one month as the Scottish midfielder will undergo a minor heart procedure due to a mild, benign arrhythmia, Napoli said on Tuesday.
McTominay to miss Napoli games in September
The September international break will span two weeks this season, with club football suspended from the weekend of September 20 through to October 10.
Napoli will play four games, three in Serie A and one in the Champions League before the first international break of 2026-27.
Next Sunday, they visit defending Serie A champions Inter at San Siro, and the following week, on September 9, they host Arsenal at the Stadio Maradona for the opening Champions League game of the campaign.
McTominay will miss both matches, as well as the following two: at home against Bologna on September 13 and away at Fiorentina on September 20.
After the break, Napoli will host Frosinone on October 10 and then visit Villarreal in the Champions League Round 2 on October 13, and Napoli are confident that McTominay will be fit to feature in those fixtures.
