Roma and Inter are eager to keep Rafik Belghali in Serie A, claim reports, after the Algeria international was relegated with Hellas Verona.
The right-back turned 24 last month and made a good impression when representing his country at the World Cup in the USA, Mexico and Canada.
Belghali eager to stay in Serie A
He only came to Italian football a year ago for Hellas Verona, who paid circa €2m to purchase him from Belgian club KV Mechelen.
Belghali scored two goals in 26 appearances for the Serie A side, but was unable to prevent their relegation into Serie B.
There were also some recurring ankle issues that kept him on the touchline between January and March 2026.
According to Footmercato reporters, Roma consider Belghali a priority for the right-back role after seeing Juventus snatch Zeki Celik from under their noses.
He is also on the lengthy Inter list of potential heirs to Denzel Dumfries, after missing out on both Marco Palestra and Anan Khalaili.
There has been previous mention of interest from the likes of Fiorentina and Bologna too.
The asking price is rumoured to be in the region of €15m, so if Roma were to make a proposal, it would be on loan with an option to buy.
